UP NEXT: The Tips return to action Friday, March 1, for a 7:35 p.m. tilt against the Tri-City Americans. (1380 AM / 95.3 FM / TuneIn App / WHL Live). Tickets are available at www.everettsilvertips.com/tickets and the first 1,000 fans will receive a Silvertips trading card sheet.
Everett pounced on an early lead, 1-0, with a power play goal from Wylie at 6:08 in the first. Off the draw, forward Max Patterson dropped a pass back to Christiansen on the blueline, who sent the puck over to Wylie, who stepped up in the slot and wired a shot top shelf over the glove of Cougars goaltender Isaiah Dilaura.
Everett struck again, 2-0, 16 seconds after the opening goal as forward Zack Andrusiak notched his 37th goal of the season. Defenseman Ian Walker fed the puck out of the zone to Reece Vitelli in the neutral zone, who hit Andrusiak along the left boards and finished with a snipe on the blocker side.
Berezowski chimed in at 17:52 for the second power play goal of the night to put the Silvertips up 3-0. Defenseman Artyom Minulin sent the puck over to Fairbrother who ripped a shot from above the left circle, which got deflected by Berezowski posted in front of the crease.
The Silvertips outshot the Cougars 24-8 in the opening frame. Prince George substituted DiLaura out for Taylor Gauthier to start the second period. Everett tacked on another power play goal to extend their lead to 4-0 at 2:59 in the second period. The Silvertips' power play unit continued to finesse their way around the Cougars as they made three tape-to-tape passes from Sahvan Khaira on the blueline, to Vitelli in the right circle, then over to Robbie Holmes who buried the one timer from the right circle.
Prince George cut the Everett lead to 4-1 at 5:12 as winger Matej Toman stashed a rebound from the left circle on the glove side of Silvertips goaltender Dustin Wolf.
Kindopp retaliated 67 seconds later to make it 5-1 at 6:19. Wylie cycled the puck over to Fairbrother off the draw who hammered a shot from the blueline to create a rebound picked up by Kindopp and buried his wrist shot from the right dot.
Everett finished the second period with 38 total shots on goal while the Cougars were able to land 19 on Wolf. Everett subbed in goaltender Max Palaga to start the third period, while Wolf finished his outing with 18 saves.
Kindopp opened the third with a snipe, his second goal on the night, at 2:13 to make it a 6-1 Everett lead. The Cougars scored their second goal of the night at 10:16 to cut the deficit to 6-2 on a Toman rebound, and Josh Maser finished the scoring with 2:29 left on a snap shot from the right circle.
