Victoria, BC -- Victoria Royals' goaltender Griffen Outhouse, who was named the first star of the game, made 38 saves in the team's 5-4 shootout win over the Vancouver Giants in front of a sold out crowd for Pink in the Rink Night.

Notes:
Pink in the Rink: With tonight's victory, the Victoria Royals improved to 5-0-0-0 against the Vancouver Giants on their annual Pink in the Rink Night. They are now also 6-2-0-0 in all Pink in the Rink contests since their inaugural season in 2011-12.
Assist Master: Tonight, Royals' defenceman Scott Walford recorded his 100th career WHL assist. By reaching this mark, Walford became the third defenceman in franchise history to record at least 100 helpers.
Besting the Giants: The Royals have now defeated Vancouver four times this season. In doing so, they are tied with the Portland Winterhawks for most wins over the Giants this campaign. The club has also handed Vancouver four of their six losses against the BC Division.
Shorthanded: Dino Kambeitz recorded the Royals' ninth shorthanded goal of the season. The club now ranks tied for sixth in the WHL for shorthanded goals.
Extra Time: After tonight, the Royals are now 6-3 in extra time games this season, which includes a record of 4-2 in shootouts.
Ralph's Return: Royals' defenceman Ralph Jarratt returned to the line-up tonight following a 10-game absence.
Middle Matches: Victoria has competed in seven three-game sets against the Giants since they relocated from Chilliwack. In the second of three games, the Royals have posted a 5-1-0-1 record.
Coming Up: The Royals continue their homestand tomorrow with a matinee contest vs. the Vancouver Giants. Puck drop is at 3:05 p.m. with a Skate with the Players will taking place post-game. The team will then return to action on Friday, March 1st, and Saturday, March 2nd to face the Prince George Cougars to wrap up their homestand.
