Shorthanded Grizzlies Limp out of Anchorage

Anchorage, Alaska - The Alaska Aces (45-21-2-1) defeated the Utah Grizzlies (32-30-4-3) 6-0 Sunday afternoon in Anchorage.

The Aces scored two in the first period, three in the second period and one in the third period to complete the win against a shorthanded Utah team that had six key players not on the trip due to injuries.

Tyler Sims relieved Andrew Engelage in goal after the fourth Alaska score and stopped 20 of 22 to finish the contest.

The Grizzlies hung tough as the game went down the stretch, killing five third period penalties and blocking several shots to keep the score held.

Utah plays their final regular season road game of the year Wednesday in Idaho. Face-off is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

The Grizzlies return to Maverik Center to complete the regular season Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 for Fan Appreciation Weekend. Face-off both nights is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
