Colbert Called up to AHL Chicago

Will Colbert has been called up to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.

Colbert has earned 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 58 games this season with Gwinnett. He has also posted 24 penalty minutes with the Gladiators this season.

The Arnprior, Ontario native split time last season between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League. He recorded one assist in 19 AHL game last season in Worcester and earned nine points (four goals, five assists) in 37 games with Kalamazoo last season.

Colbert skated four seasons with St. Francis Xavier University in Canada. He earned 53 points (12 goals, 41 assists) in his collegiate career.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound defenseman was twice drafted as he was first selected in the 7th round of the 2003 NHL draft by the Ottawa Senators with the 228th overall pick and then again in the 2005 NHL draft by the San Jose Sharks with the 183rd overall pick in the 8th round.

Colbert joins former Gladiators Michael Davies, Ryan Garbutt, Tim Miller and Ed Pasquale on the Wolves.

The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
