Condors Shutout Wranglers, 2-0

Las Vegas, Nev- The Las Vegas Wranglers® were shutout by the Bakersfield Condors Saturday night at Rabobank arena in front of 7,767. Tyler Gotto and Las Vegas native Adam Naglich netted the two goals for the Condors in the win. Neither team was able to convert on the power play Saturday night following a power play laden showdown the previous night. Las Vegas was scoreless with their five man-advantages but held the Condors back on their two opportunities. Condors' net minder Brian Stewart turned away all of the 24 shots he faced as he improved his record to 17-4 in his time with Bakersfield. Wrangler's goalie Michael Ouzas slides to 18-17-2 on the season allowing two goals on the 25 shots he faced. The win increases the Condors winning streak to eleven straight games as they improve to 40-25-3 with 83 total points giving them a firm hold of first place in the Pacific division and the second spot in the Western conference. The shutout drops the Wranglers to a record of 36-27-5 with 77 total points as they now hold the third spot in the Pacific division and the fourth overall spot in the Western conference.

The Wranglers are 3-5 this season against the Condors but were swept off Bakersfield's home ice over the weekend scoring only one goal in two games at Rabobank Arena. Tyler Gotto scored his ninth goal of the season at 7:12 of the first period assisted by Bobby Robins and Evan Stoflet to give the Condors the 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission. Las Vegas was outshot 15-4 in the first frame.

Las Vegas looked like they would bounce back in the second period as they outshot the Condors 12-5 but it was not enough. Adam Naglich tallied his sixteenth goal of the season at 1:11 of the second period assisted solely by Andrew Ianiero giving Bakersfield the 2-0 lead.

Neither team was able to net in the final period of regulation as both goalies turned away a combined 13 shots. Tyler Gotto's goal early in the first period would end up being the game winner as the Condors shutout the Wranglers 2-0.

The Wranglers now head home to host the Condors on Tuesday night in the final regular season meeting between the clubs. The puck drops at 7:05 PM PST.
