(SALISBURY, Md.) Jeff Kemp's two-run single with two outs in the eighth inning broke a 5-5 tie, and the Delmarva Shorebirds held on for a 7-5 win over the Lexington Legends Thursday night.

The Legends took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Mauricio Ramos' first home run of the year. They added a run in the third. Ramon Torres led off with a single and stole second. Frank Schwindel flied out to center field, and Torres moved to third when center fielder Gregory Lorenzo threw high to second base.

The Legends extended their lead to 4-0 in the fifth inning. Humberto Arteaga led off with a single and scored on a double by Dominique Taylor. Taylor stole third and came home on a passed ball.

The Shorebirds began their comeback with three runs in the sixth inning. A walk to Jeff Kemp, a single by

Drew Dosch and a single by Creede Simpson produced a run. Chance Sisco walked to load the bases, and Conor Biefeldt followed with a two-run single to left field.

Delmarva took the lead with two runs in the seventh, but the Legends rallied to tie the game in the top of the eighth on a two-out RBI single by Humberto Arteaga. But Kemp's two-out hit in the bottom of the eighth gave the Shorebirds their final margin.
