Crawdads Best Braves, 8-3

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves (0-1) were defeated by the Hickory Crawdads (1-0) on Thursday night by a score of 8-3 in game one of a four game series beginning the second half of play.

The Crawdads took the lead in the second on a two run homer by Travis Demeritte (16) and did not look back. Hickory added to their lead in the fourth on an RBI double by Kellin Deglan and an RBI single by Jairo Beras for the 4-0 score. Rome put a run on the board in the sixth on an RBI single by Connor Lien and two runs in the ninth on a run scoring triple by Blake Brown and an RBI single by Johan Camargo. The Crawdads would go on to add two runs in the sixth and single runs in the seventh and eighth for the final 8-3 victory.

Tyler Smith (4-1) gets the win and Tyler Brosius (1-4) is charged with the loss.
