LAKEWOOD, NJ - The BlueClaws started the second half with their fourth straight loss, a 2-1 setback to West Virgina on Thursday night at FirstEnergy Park.

The loss spoiled a stellar outing for Mark Leiter Jr, who allowed two runs/one earned over 7 innings while striking out a career-high nine, though he fell to 5-6.

West Virginia (1-0, 21-48) had dropped 14 straight games before the win, which was Lakewood's fourth straight loss and dropped them to 27-43, 16 games under .500 for the first time this year.

Zach Green, who re-joined the BlueClaws active roster last Wednesday, hit his first home run to put the BlueClaws up 1-0 in the second inning.

West Virginia tied the game in the 4th inning when Harold Ramirez scored on a throwing error by catcher Andrew Knapp. The Power took the lead in the 5th inning when Danny Collins added an RBI single to put the Power up 2-1.

Buddy Borden (2-5) earned the win with six innings of one-run ball. Henry Hirsch threw scoreless innings in the 7th and 8th and Isaac Sanchez got his third save of the season.

The series continues Friday night. Jon Prosinski (2-0, 2.55) opposes West Virginia's Cody Dickson (2-8, 5.58).
