PREVIEW: The Shorebirds finished the first half with a series sweep at West Virginia. Delmarva won the final game 6-5 with Trey Mancini and Conor Bierfeldt both hitting home runs in the vic- tory. After the game, Mancini and reliever Dylan Rheault were added to the SAL All-Star Game, making it seven Shorebirds who represented Delmarva at the showcase.

TODAY'S OPPONENT: Jake Junis will start the first game of the second half for Lexington. In the first half, Junis went 7-4 with a 3.16 ERA in 14 starts for the Legends. The right-hander lost his final start before the break, giving up three runs in seven innings vs. the Charleston RiverDogs. From May 2nd to June 9th, Junis went 6-1 in eight starts before the loss to Charleston. The Royals drafted Junis in the 29th round of the 2011 MLB Draft out of high school in Rock Falls, Illinois.

19TH SEASON: The 2014 season marks the 19th season of Shorebirds baseball on the Eastern Shore and 18th straight year as a Baltimore Orioles affiliate. The Shorebirds' first season was 1996 as a Montreal Expos farm team.

ORIOLES WATCH: The Baltimore Orioles beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 2-0 on Wednesday night. Kevin Gausman pitched six shutout innings, and Nelson Cruz hit his 22nd home run of the season, tops in the American League. With a series win, the O's are now 37-34 on the year in 3rd place in the AL East, 3 games back of Toronto. Baltimore now travels for a big series vs. the Yankees.

THE IRON IS HOT: 20 out of the 25 players on the Shorebirds active roster appeared for the Ab- erdeen IronBirds in 2013. The IronBirds put together an impressive season, making the playoffs for the first time in their 12-year franchise history. Aberdeen won the McNamara Division in the New York-Penn League with a 40-32 record. The IronBirds lost in the first round of the NYPL play- offs, losing 2 games to 0 against the Tri-City Valley Cats.

CONOR BIERFELDT | OF

In the final game of the first half, Bierfeldt his a two-run home run at West Virginia. The Shore- birds outfielder now has seven home runs on the season, second on the team behind only Mike Yastrzemski (10). Despite hitting just .209, Bierfeldt is also second on the team in doubles with 15, and leads the team with 24 walks drawn.

WHO'S HOT - JON KELLER

The Shorebirds reliever has been a key part of the impressive Delmarva bullpen. Since allowing five runs in his first 4 appearances, Keller has given up just two runs in his last 13 outings, with at least 2 Ks every time out.

WHO ELSE - CHANCE SISCO

The Shorebirds catcher has been on a tear lately, raising his batting average to .310. Sisco has two or more hits in each of his last three games played, including a 4-for-5 night on June 14th at West Virginia.
