PREVIEW: The Shorebirds swept the Kannapolis Intimidators with a 5-2 victory on Sunday after- noon. Hunter Harvey exited early after four innings, but Delmarva picked up their ace with three runs in the fifth to erase a 1-0 deficit. Dylan Rheault and Dennis Torres locked up the sweep with yet another strong bullpen performance.

TODAY'S OPPONENT: Reynaldo Lopez will start game one for Hagerstown. Lopez was just added to the roster today from extended spring training. Another right-hander Andrew Cooper will start the second game. Cooper has been primarily throwing out of the bullpen, going 4-1 with a 3.18 ERA in 10 appearances (1 start). In his only start, Cooper took a loss to Lakewood in game two of a doubleheader, giving up three runs in 3 1/3 innings.

19TH SEASON: The 2014 season marks the 19th season of Shorebirds baseball on the Eastern Shore and 18th straight year as a Baltimore Orioles affiliate. The Shorebirds' first season was 1996 as a Montreal Expos farm team.

ORIOLES WATCH: The Baltimore Orioles managed a series split with the Cleveland Indians, taking a 4-2 victory on Sunday. Former Shorebird Manny Machado went deep for his second home run of the year, and Nelson Cruz launched his team-best 16th long ball of the season. Newly appoint- ed closer Zach Britton earned his second save.

THE IRON IS HOT: 19 out of the 25 players on the Shorebirds active roster appeared for the Ab- erdeen IronBirds in 2013. The IronBirds put together an impressive season, making the playoffs for the first time in their 12-year franchise history. Aberdeen won the McNamara Division in the New York-Penn League with a 40-32 record. The IronBirds lost in the first round of the NYPL play- offs, losing 2 games to 0 against the Tri-City Valley Cats.

WHO'S HOT/WHO ELSE

SEBASTIAN VADER | P

On Thursday night, Vader pitched seven solid in- nings in a 5-1 win for Delmarva. It was the fifth consecutive victory for Vader, all coming in his last five starts. The Shore- birds' starter has now improved to 6-1, tied for the second-most wins in the South Atlantic League. Vader has also lowered his ERA to 3.16 on the season.

WHO'S HOT - JIMMY YACABONIS

Through his first 15 appearances, the Del- marva closer has yet to allow a run. Yacabo- nis is perfect 11-for-11 in save opportunities with a 1-0 record. In 17.0 innings, Yacabonis has struck out 23 batters.

WHO ELSE - JEFF KEMP

Jeff Kemp went 4-for-4 on Sunday with an RBI triple to help Delmarva to a four-game sweep of Kannapolis. The Delmarva short- stop is in the middle of a 9-game hitting streak, going back to May 14th.
