Sixth Straight Loss for Rome, 14-6

Rome, GA - The West Virginia Power defeated the Rome Braves by a score of 14-6 on Monday night in game one of a three game series before a crowd of 1,815.

The Power struck early in the first with a run scoring single by Erich Weiss, an RBI ground out by Wyatt Mathisen, a two run double by Elvis Escobar, and a walk that plated Edwin Espinal to take a 6-0 lead. An RBI double by Carlos Franco in the second and a two run homer from Jake Schrader in the fourth cut the Power's lead in half making the score 6-3. The Power pulled away for good in the fifth with four runs and added three runs in the sixth and a run in the seventh for the 14-3 score. A three run home run from Connor Lien in the ninth made it a 14-6 final as Rome went down for the sixth consecutive time.

Buddy Borden (2-2) picks up the win and Carlos Salazar (1-6) is charged with the loss.
