GREENSBORO, NC - Domingo German blanked the BlueClaws over 7.2 innings as Greensboro shut out Lakewood in a 4-0 win on Monday night.

The BlueClaws (19-29) have lost all four games at NewBridge Bank Park this year while Greensboro (28-21) won their fifth straight game with the victory.

For German (4-1), a 21 year old from the Dominican Republic, the outing marked a season long. He allowed seven hits and no walks while striking out four.

Greensboro got on the board in the third inning on a solo home run by Kentrell Dewitt, his third of the year. A successful hit and run set up Chad Wallach's two-run double in the fourth inning to put the Hoppers up 3-0.

BlueClaws starter Tyler Viza (2-5) allowed those three runs over six innings, striking out three without a walk. Jesen Therrien came on in the seventh inning and allowed an RBI double to Cody Keefer.

The BlueClaws loaded the bases on three straight singles by Mitch Walding, Samuel Hiciano, and Wilmer Oberto to start the eighth inning, but German struck out Jiandido Tromp and Carlos Tocci, while reliever Miguel del Pozo struck out Andrew Pullin to end the inning.

Del Pozo followed with a scoreless ninth inning for his first save.

Samuel Hiciano had two hits for the BlueClaws while Willians Astudillo and Jiandido Tromp extended their hitting streaks to 10.

The series continues Tuesday night at 7:00. RHP Mark Leiter Jr. (4-3, 4.53) opposes LHP Jarlin Garcia (2-6, 5.45).
