
Shorebirds Announce Plans for Final Homestand

Salisbury, Md. - The Delmarva Shorebirds, class "A" affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, are excited to announce plans for the final three home games of the 2012 season, from August 28 through August 30 against the Lakewood BlueClaws (Phillies). All three games will begin at 7:05pm. Gates open at 6:00pm for fans and 5:00pm for season ticket holders.
The Shorebirds were granted county approval to blast off a final fireworks show on Thursday, August 30, to make up for a postponed fireworks show from August 11.
The homestand opens on Tuesday, August 28. It's the final McDonald's Two for Tuesday of the season. Bring a McDonald's receipt to the Shorebirds Box Office that shows the purchase of an extra value meal, happy meal or full sized salad and get a buy one, get one free Shorebirds ticket deal. The Shorebirds will donate $1 per McDonald's receipt received to the Ronald McDonald House. Tuesday is also Salisbury University Welcome Week night. Salisbury University students will get a discounted $5 general admission ticket by showing their student ID at the Shorebirds Box Office.
Wednesday, August 29 is the last Silver Sluggers Night of the season presented by Riverside and Milford Street Pharmacy. All Silver Sluggers are encouraged to join us for their final game of the season. Play baseball bingo and win great Shorebirds prizes. Wednesday night is also "Bat For The Cure Night". The Shorebirds have partnered with Peninsula Urology Associates and the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute at PRMC to honor prostate cancer survivors and promote early detection for this terrible disease.
The final home game of the season is scheduled for Thursday, August 30, which is Fan Appreciation Night. The Shorebirds will cap off the night with a fireworks extravaganza presented by Mountaire Farms. For Fan Appreciation Night, fans will have the chance to win great prizes all night. Prizes include a year supply of Aquafina water, Holloway Tours gift certificates, team autographed memorabilia, golf passes to River Run Golf Course, a wine rack, a 46" TV and more. Every Thursday home game is a Kiss 95.9 Thirsty Thursday. Enjoy $1.50 Miller Lite and Coors Light draft beers plus $1.50 12 oz. Pepsi products. Prior to the game, Mountaire Farms will recognize the Shorebirds Mountaire Player of the Year and the Shorebirds Mountaire Community Service Player of the Year.
