"Shelton Family Night" January 24th

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, will hold "Shelton Family Night" when they host the Albany River Rats on Saturday, January 24th at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard. Face-off for the game, the Sound Tigers' first at home after six in a row on the road, is slated for 7:05 p.m.

Shelton residents and Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce members can purchase specially-priced tickets, $19.50 for adult center-ice seats and $12.50 for other sections, by calling 203-334-GOAL. Children, students and senior citizens can also purchase $12.50 tickets in all sections, and children and students who order tickets in advance will receive a free poster while supplies last. Shelton residents can also show proof of residency at the arena box office on the day of the game for last-minute savings.

Other highlights of "Shelton Family Night" will include:

- Shelton Police Department & Fire Department color guard during the National Anthem.

- Mayor Mark A. Lauretti taking part in a ceremonial puck drop.

- Lafayette School Chorus singing God Bless America.

- Fire Prevention posters and essays created by Shelton school students on display.

- Shelton Intermediate School cheerleaders leading the crowd in the "YMCA".

- A Shelton Police Canine unit pre-game demonstration and concourse display.

- Cub scouts from Booth Hill School selling Sound Tigers team programs as part of a fundraiser.

- Post-game food and drink specials at Danny O's on River Road for fans presenting ticket stubs from the game.

NAPA Auto Parts of 3380 Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport and 1860 Stratford Avenue in Stratford will also present the third of five Sound Tigers card set giveaways; featuring Derek Bekar, Jody Robinson, Brandon Smith and Blaine Down; on Saturday the 24th.

Sound Tigers individual-game tickets are on sale at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard box office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and on all game days, as well as on-line at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 203-368-1000.

The Sound Tigers will continue the stretch of six straight road games when they visit the Providence Bruins tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. and the Hershey Bears Saturday at 7 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on 600 WICC-AM and at www.soundtigers.com. They will finish the stretch when they play Albany; at the home of their NHL affiliate, the New Jersey Devils; on Thursday, January 22nd and the Philadelphia Phantoms on Friday, January 23rd.
