Sharks win streak ends at six, fall to Wolf Pack 5-2

WORCESTER, MA - The Worcester Sharks six game winning streak came to an end as they fell to the Hartford Wolf Pack by the score of 5-2 at the DCU Center on Friday night.

For the 7th straight game, the Sharks grabbed the first goal of the hockey game as T.J Trevelyan gave the Sharks a 1-0 lead at 6:54 with his 7th goal of the season with a power play strike past Matt Zaba. After Alex Stalock stopped P.A. Parenteau on a break-away chance, defenseman Illka Heikkinen backhanded a rebound into the net at 7:25 to tie the score at 1-1. Hartford outshot Worcester 13-9 in the first period.

The Wolf Pack scored twice more in the second period to take a 3-1 lead through forty minutes as Corey Locke (16th) and Dale Weiss (12th ) each scored their first of two goals of the evening. Locke's strike came on a 5-on-3 power play at 5:24 and Weise struck on a break away at 12:19.

Corey Lock extended the Hartford lead to 4-1 with his second power play tally at 3:10. Joe Callahan's (4th) blast from the center point on the power play at 12:46 got the Sharks back within two goals but Hartford struck back minutes later. Dale Weise capped the game with his 2nd of the night at 15:52 as Hartford remained perfect against the Sharks this season with their third straight win.

With the loss, the Sharks move to 22-13-0-2 (46 points) on the season.

Dan DaSilva fought for the 2nd straight game battling David Urquhart in the middle frame... T.J. Trevelyan extended point streak to three games (2-3-5) with a first period goal.

On Saturday, the Sharks host the first of three high school hockey double headers presented by the Massachusetts Army National Guard.
