BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers were downed by the Worcester Sharks Saturday night by a final score of 4-0. Worcester used three power-play goals to jump ahead and outshot the Sound Tigers, 34-25. Kevin Poulin was in net and stopped 30 shots in the effort for the Sound Tigers, but Harri Sateri earned his first shutout of the year for Worcester.

The Sharks opened up the scoring at the 12:56 mark of the first period on the Sharks' first power play of the game. Dylan DeMelo's shot from the point hit traffic in front, but dropped right in front for Brock Higgs. Higgs won the net-front battle and got the rebound past Poulin to give Worcester a 1-0 lead.

The Sharks picked up another power play goal early in the second period, as Dan DaSilva got the puck down low in the left circle. DaSilva stickhandled before rifling a wrist shot the beat Poulin short-side. DaSilva's goal came at 5:28 of the second period and made it a 2-0 Worcester lead.

Worcester extended their lead to three early in the third period on yet another goal with the man advantage. This time, the Sound Tigers were down 5-on-3 when Konrad Albetshauser let one go from the high slot. The puck found its way through traffic and beat Poulin to make it a 3-0 game.

Later in the third period, Higgs cashed in for this second of the game on another battle in front. Poulin made the stop on a shot, but a collision knocked him off his angle. Higgs got to the puck in front and buried it, giving Worcester a 4-0 lead.

The Sound Tigers are back in action Sunday afternoon when they host the Adirondack Phantoms at 3 p.m.
