Springfield Falcons News Release
Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons (38-18-1-5) defeated the Providence Bruins by the final score of 4-2 Saturday night at the MassMutual Center, extending the team's winning streak to four games.
Dana Tyrell scored the decisive goal, netting the game-winner at 4:34 of the third period on a wrist shot from the left-wing circle. The Airdrie, Alberta native, acquired by Springfield in a trade with the Syracuse Crunch Wednesday, March 5, now has four points (two goals, two assists) in five games since joining the Falcons.
Ryan Craig continued his stellar play of late, extending his current point streak to seven games with an insurance goal at the 14:25 mark of the third period. The team's captain has nine points (six goals, three assists) over the seven-game stretch.
The Falcons scored on their first power-play of the night, a 5-on-3 man advantage, as Michael Chaput buried home a centering feed from Carter Camper at 9:02 of the first period. For Chaput, the goal was his team-leading 17th of the season. The tally extended the team's streak to seven consecutive conversions on the man advantage, after the Falcons went 3-for-3 on the power play in back-to-back games Sunday, March 9 at Portland and Friday, March 14 versus Albany.
Sean Collins' 12th goal of the season gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead at 18:56 of the second period, as the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native scored on the doorstep off of another Camper feed. Collins extended his point streak to four games, totaling six points (two goals, four assists) over that span. With another two assists Saturday, Camper has registered four helpers in his last three games.
Springfield netminder Mike McKenna made 31 saves on 33 shots, earning his team-high 19th victory of the season. The St. Louis native has won his last four starts and has not lost in regulation since February 22 versus Hartford.
Malcolm Subban stopped 13 of 17 shots in net for Providence, falling to 12-8-4 this season.

The team returns to the MassMutual Center Saturday, March 22 to host the Manchester Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. Olympic Gold Medalist Heather O'Reilly will be in attendance, signing autographs on the concourse from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
