Sharks Attack Patriots 6-2

Bridgewater, NJ- The Camden Riversharks defeated the Somerset Patriots 6-2 before 5,558 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday evening.

The Riversharks took an early lead in the first on a solo homerun by Brian Burgamy, his eighth of the season.

Somerset answered right back in the bottom half of the frame after Fernando Cortez singled and scored on a throwing error after Michael Hernandez doubled to even the score at one.

Camden regained the lead in the top of the third inning when Ruddy Yan singled and came around to score on a single to center by Lloyd Turner for the 2-1 lead.

The Riversharks added another run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Toby Hall and three more in the fifth inning. RBI singles by Pedro Feliz and Danny Richar highlighted the rally for Camden and gave them a 6-1 advantage.

A solo homerun by Hernandez (8) in the bottom of the fifth inning cut the Camden lead to 6-2.

Camden starter Eddy Camacho (3-0) got the win after holding Somerset to two runs in six innings pitched and striking out five. Somerset starter Bill Pulsipher (2-4) suffered the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits in five innings pitched.
