Long Island Ducks News Release

(Central Islip, N.Y., June 29, 2011) - The Long Island Ducks shut out the York Revolution 7-0 on Wednesday night before a past-capacity crowd of 6,018 at Bethpage Ballpark.

The Ducks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning against Revs' starter Jack Spradlin. A RBI fielder's choice off the bat of Matt Padgett and a run-scoring double from J.R. House highlighted the inning.

It stayed that way until the eighth when Long Island plated four more against York's bullpen. A RBI single by Kraig Binick and a bases-clearing three-run double off the bat of Kennard Jones did the damage, giving the Ducks a 7-0 lead.

That was more than enough for Ducks' starter Mike Loree (9-1), who fired eight shutout innings for the win, allowing just five hits while striking out four. Spradlin (0-2) took the loss, yielding three runs on four hits in three innings of work.

Javier Colina and Matt Esquivel paced the Ducks with two hits apiece, while Jones led the way with three RBI.
