Iowa Wolves News Release
DES MOINES, Iowa - Jaden Shackelford hit the game-winning three-pointer with 5.6 seconds left for the Oklahoma City Blue in a 125-123 win over the Iowa Wolves on Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
After falling behind by five after another three by Shackelford with 1:31 left, Emmanuel Mudiay put Iowa (3-9) up 123-122 with a putback layup of his own miss with 25.2 seconds left.
Oklahoma City (5-8) didn't take a timeout down one and with the shot clock winding down, Shackelford released a deep three from the left side from between the three line and halfcourt that hit nothing but net.
The Wolves had one final chance but Mudiay's three was off the mark s Shackelford rebounded the miss as the clock expired.
Shackelford finished with 23 points helped by seven three-pointers while two-way Eugene Omoruyi scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Adam Mokola added 21 points off the bench.
Two-way Matt Ryan led Iowa in his debut with the team as he tallied 28 points, including 19 in the first quarter. Mudiay scored 17 points off the bench. Matt Lewis, Brandon Sampson and Phillip Wheeler scored 13 points while Jordy Tshimanga had 12 points, including two monster dunks in the Wolves' comeback at the end. D.J. Carton tallied nine points, eight rebounds and nine assists.
Iowa (16-of-40) and Oklahoma City (15-of-34) combined to make 31 three-pointers in the game. The game featured 11 lead changes and nine ties.
