Skyforce Partners with Compassion Child Care for Throwback Night

Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce is set to host 'Throwback Night', in partnership with Compassion Child Care on Sunday, February 5 during a 3:00 PM CT matchup against the Birmingham Squadron at the Sanford Pentagon.
Skyforce players will be donning royal blue jerseys - a tribute to the Skyforce colors in the CBA days. The uniform design features several nods to Compassion Child Care including students' names down the side of the jersey, numbers listed on the shorts representing different areas which they serve the community - 1000 families served, 500 budgeting class attendees, 22,750 lunches provided, 250 preschool graduates - and their purpose statement is featured on the back.
"We love to partner with the Skyforce because it helps us raise awareness and provides a great outlet for entertainment for our families at the same time," said Barry Termaat, Compassion Child Care Board of Directors. "It's never been more important in our city to support and encourage quality daycare. Our Compassion model is wholly dependent on private donations to scholarship struggling, working families to be able to afford childcare and give their kids an excellent education in the name of Jesus Christ."
"We are very excited to roll out the original Skyforce uniforms," Skyforce president Mike Heineman said. "Reaching back for memories of Skyforce alums like Cedric Hunter, Bobby Phils, Eric Brown and (D-Mac) Daryl McDonald will be special. It will be emotional to see our current players wearing a big piece of Skyforce history."
About Compassion Child Care
Compassion Child Care (CCC) opened its doors in April of 2012. The need for affordable childcare in downtown Sioux Falls was evident, but CCC was surprised at how quickly working-poor families began to reach out for help. Within six months, Compassion Child Care was full, providing services for ninety-two children ages five weeks to five years old. CCC has served over 250 children and ministered to over 200 families by providing excellent childcare and connecting parents with counseling, job training and other resources.
