905 Split Series with Squadron

Raptors 905 (6-5), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, dropped the second of back-to-back matchups against the Birmingham Squadron (3-12) 115-95 Thursday evening. Sterling Brown led the 905 contributing a team-high 23 points, nine rebounds, and five assists off the bench. The Squadron were paced by Dereon Seabron who had a game-high 25 points, six assists, six rebounds, and two steals.

Birmingham took the reins early in the opening frame going on a 14-2 run. The Squadron continued to have a strong first quarter, going up by as many as 18 points before the home side was able to end the quarter 21-31. Birmingham continued to dominate the ball game, outscoring the 905 35-22 in the quarter, taking a 23-point advantage going into the break.

Down by as many as 30 points in the third quarter, the home side found their rhythm outscoring the Squadron 25-22 behind an 8-2 run to close out the third quarter. The two teams played an evenly matched fourth quarter but the 905 ultimately fell to the Birmingham Squadron in the second game of the back-to-back.

Christian Koloko paced the 905 with his second double-double putting up 16 points, 14 rebounds, three steals, and five blocks. The Squadron saw a strong performance from Feron Hunt who added 21 points, seven rebounds, and four steals securing a victory for the Squadron.

The 905 continue their six-game homestand as they host the Cleveland Charge Thursday, tip-off slated for 7:30 pm. The Squadron continue their road trip as they head to Maine to take on the Celtics on Saturday, tip-off scheduled for 1:00 pm.
