
Senators Win Marathon 10-7 over Hartford

Harrisburg Senators News Release
On Thursday night in Hartford, the Senators and Hartford Yard Goats went back and forth before the Senators hung on to win 10-7 in eleven innings. The Senators rallied for four runs in the 8th inning but couldn't hold the lead. The took two run leads into the bottom of the 9th and 10th innings but couldn't hold either lead. Finally, the Sens broke through with four runs in the 11th inning and held Hartford to just a single tally in the bottom of the 11th. James Bourque was the winner, going to 3-0 and Chuck Taylor drove in four runs after coming in the game in the 8th inning as a pinch-hitter. Harrisburg improves to 17-3 while Hartford falls to 10-11.
Turning Point
Chuck Taylor didn't enter the game until the 8th inning as a pinch hitter. He drove in the go ahead run with a single, giving the Senators a 2-1 lead. Then in the 10th, he hit a sac fly to give the Senators a 5-4 lead. In the 11th, he drove in two more with a single which gave the Senators a three-run lead.
On Capitol Hill
Five pitchers saw action for the Senators. Tyler Mapes started and went five innings allowing just an unearned run. Dan Jennings followed and allowed three hits but no runs. Taylor Guilbeau faced one batter and retired him. Aaron Barrett pitched two innings and allowed a pair of home runs. James Bourque earned the win tossing two innings.
With the Gavel
Chuck Taylor came into the game as a pinch-hitter in the 8th inning and in three trips to the plate the rest of the game he drove in four runs. Adrian Sanchez had two hits, scored two runs, and drove one in. Rhett Wiseman drove in two runs with a hit and a rbi walk. Austin Davidson drove in two runs with a single in the eighth inning. Tyler Goeddel had two hits and two runs scored.
Filibusters
The 4:05 game is the longest this season for the Senators. The longest game they played last season was 4:04 and it was opening night.
It's the first time the Senators have won an extra inning game.
After 20 games, this is the best start in modern Sens history (since 1987).
11 pitchers combined to throw 403 pitches.

The Senators and Hartford Yard Goats play game two of their four-game series Friday night at 7:05 p.m. at Dunkin' Donuts Park in Hartford.
