Harrisburg Senators News Release

Early offense fueled the Harrisburg Senators as they snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 9-6 win over the New Britain Rock Cats. Wednesday night marked the first time since May 22 (18 games) that Harrisburg (23-35) scored more than four runs.

Harrisburg jumped on New Britain starter Matt Flemer early by scoring three runs in the first inning. Tony Renda, Matt Skole and Adrian Sanchez all recorded RBI in the inning. Skole then broke things open in the third inning when he launched his ninth home run of the year - a three-run shot - to put the Senators on top, 6-0. Harrisburg added two more in the fourth when Brian Goodwin doubled in Wilmer Difo and Austin Voth. Renda added his second RBI of the night on a fielder's choice in the top of the eighth inning.

Five different Senators recorded multi-hit games, including Difo (3-for-5), Renda (2-for-5), Goodwin (2-for-4), Skole (3-for-5) and Brian Jeroloman (2-for-5). As a team, Harrisburg pounded out 14 hits.

Aided by an early cushion, Harrisburg's starter Voth pounded the strike zone on his way to six solid innings. Voth allowed three runs on four hits, walked none and struck out eight batters. The right-hander entered the game having allowed just one home run, but allowed two on Wednesday night. In another MLB rehab appearance, Sammy Solis was unable to record an out in the three batters he faced to start the seventh. The Rock Cats scored a run on two singles and a double before Solis was relieved by Gilberto Mendez. Mendez allowed both of Solis' runners to score, but nothing otherwise to keep Harrisburg in front 8-6 after seven innings. Bryan Harper allowed two hits while recording two outs in the eighth inning. Sam Runion stranded both runners in the bottom of the eighth and then worked a scoreless ninth to secure his first save of the season.

The finale of a four-game set begins tomorrow morning at 10:35 a.m. The pregame show will start at 10:20 a.m. on Fox Sports 1460am, iHeart Radio, and on Tune In.
