
RubberDucks Breeze past New Hampshire 8-1

Akron RubberDucks News Release
The RubberDucks string together 11 hits and Adam Plutko pitched a strong seven innings to end a three game losing streak with an 8-1 win over New Hampshire.
Turning Point
Anthony Gallas drove a hard hit ground ball down the left field line to drive in two runs for the RubberDucks and gave them a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Todd Hankins and Yandy Diaz scored on the Gallas' single, Hankins reached on a bunt single and moved over to third base when Diaz was safe at first and advanced to second on a throwing error by the third baseman.
Mound Presence
Adam Plutko (2-0) started for the RubberDucks and pitched seven innings only giving up four hits and one run with a strikeout. This was Plutko's second start in Akron but his first start at Canal Park was cut short by rain. Scott Atchison made an appearance in the game for a rehab assignment in the eighth inning. Atchison struck out the first two batters on seven pitches, gave up a triple and struck out the next batter to end the inning. Casey Lawrence (4-7) started for New Hampshire and gave up six runs on eight hits.
Duck Tales
Todd Hankins opened the game for the Ducks with a double and advanced to third on a throwing error. With two outs Bryson Myles connected on an opposite field single allowing Hankins to score from third. Two insurance runs were added in the seventh on a single to right field by Jeremy Lucas, Ronny Rodriguez who walked and Tony Wolters who singled scored in the play. Anthony Gallas added two more runs for the Ducks with a two-run home run to left field.
Notes
Anthony Gallas hit his second home run in as many nights in the seventh inning. Yandy Diaz left the game in seventh inning after hitting a single with an apparent injury. The Akron defense was flawless on the night while New Hampshire committed three errors...Time of game was: 2:21...Attendance: 4,727.
