Prince George's Stadium - Bowie, MD - 6:35 PM
LAST GAME: The B-Mets enjoyed their largest win of the year, handling Bowie, 8-1, Tuesday night at Prince George's Stadium. Rainy Lara turned in a good start, allowing a run in seven innings for his fourth win of the year. Offensively, Brock Peterson experienced his first multiple-hit game as a B-Met, driving in two more runs. Josh Rodriguez and Xorge Carrillo also drove in two runs each. Bobby Parnell pitched a scoreless eighth inning, working around a walk.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Gabriel Ynoa is making his tenth start of the year and the second of his career against Bowie. The B-Mets have lost each of Ynoa's last four starts, scoring just 11 total runs of offensive support. Ynoa's ERA has risen 0.98 in his last three outings, as the righty is still in search of his first win since May 1st. Last time out, he allowed three runs and nine hits in six innings against Trenton. He hasn't walked in batter in his past two starts. He surrendered six runs in four innings against Bowie last August at NYSEG Stadium in his lone career start against the Baysox.
BOWIE STARTER: LHP Tim Berry is making his 12th start of the year and the second of his career against the B-Mets. Berry, in his third season in the Eastern League, is coming off his first win of the year. He allowed one run in 6.2 innings pitched against New Hampshire last time out, surrendering just one run for the second straight outing. He allowed three runs in 5.2 innings against Binghamton last June, earning a no-decision at Prince George's Stadium.
0-FOR: Tuesday was the tenth time this season that Gavin Cecchini has gone hitless in a ball game. It was Binghamton's second win in those 10 games, snapping an eight game losing when Cecchini fails to register a hit. The only other win came in the opening series of the season, when the B-Mets beat Akron, 1-0, for their first win of the season. Cecchini has gone hitless in three of the last five games.
STEADY AS A BROCK: Brock Peterson has driven in seven runs through his first four games as a B-Met, including
atleast one in three of four. Dating back to his time with the Rochester Red Wings (AAA), Peterson now has 11 RBI in his last seven games played. He has driven in a run in six of those seven games.
STARTING ROTATION: Rainy Lara became the second B-Met starter in the past 20 games to make it through seven innings. He also registered the starting rotation's second win in their last 21 outings.
STUCK IN THE MIDDLE: The B-Mets are 11-11 in middle games of series this year, losing each of their last five.
GETTING OVER THE HUMP: The B-Mets are 1-6 in Wednesday games this year, losing their last five. Their last Wednesday win came on April 29, when they beat Portland 8-3. It's their worst record for any day of the week this season. Bowie is 4-3 in Wednesday games, having lost three of their last four.
VS. LEFTIES: Binghamton is facing their seventh lefty starting pitcher in their last nine games. Overall, the B-Mets are 7-9 against lefty starters this season, batting .251 against southpaws.
WINNING TEAMS: This is the B-Mets fourth straight series against a team with a winning record. The B-Mets played just six games against winning teams in their first 47 games. The B-Mets are 8-8 against winning teams this season.
K's: Dustin Lawley has struck out in seven of his last nine at-bats. He has three strikeouts in each of his last two starts.
NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets conclude their series in Bowie Thursday night at 6:35 PM. RHP Luis Cessa gets the ball for Binghamton, against Major League rehabber RHP Kevin Gausman.
