Harrisburg Senators News Release

A five-run third inning was too much to overcome for the Harrisburg Senators in a 6-3 loss to the Richmond Flying Squirrels Tuesday at The Diamond. Harrisburg (20-24) has lost 12 of 17 games on the road this season.

Harrisburg was on the board first in the top of the third as Kevin Keyes drove in a pair of runs with a single. However, in the bottom half of the inning, Richmond scored five times - all with two outs. The Senators scored a run in the top of the fourth on an infield RBI single by Adrian Sanchez. That was the only run Harrisburg scored in the fourth, despite having the bases loaded with nobody out. The Senators also left the bases loaded in the second inning.

Derrick Robinson was 3-for-5 in the leadoff spot of the order while five other Senators each contributed one hit. Harrisburg also walked five times in the game, but left 12 runners on base.

Dakota Bacus was saddled with the loss after allowing six earned runs on seven hits in five innings. Bacus walked two and struck out three in his second Double-A start. Gilberto Mendez worked around two hits and two walks to pitch two scoreless innings. Brian Dupra pitched a clean eighth inning in which he struck out one.

Game two of the three game series begins Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. The pregame show will begin at 6:20 p.m. on Fox Sports 1460am, iHeart Radio, and on Tune In.
