Tacoma Rainiers News Release

Tacoma, WA - Tacoma Rainiers pitcher Chris Seddon has been selected to join the Pacific Coast League All-Star roster at the 2010 Triple-A All-Star Game.

The left-hander was added to this year's PCL All-Star squad after pitcher and teammate Luke French was recalled by the Seattle Mariners on Friday, July 9.

This year's event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 14 at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, PA, home of the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs. The 2010 PCL squad will face off against All-Star selections from the International League beginning at 4:00 p.m. (PDT). The game can be heard locally on South Sound Sports 850 AM and will be televised nationally on MLB Network.

Seddon, 26, is tied with French and Sacramento starter Clayton Mortensen for the league lead with 10 wins and is currently the only pitcher in the PCL to have tossed two complete-game shutouts this season.

Originally selected by Tampa Bay in the fifth round of the 2001 draft, Seddon is in his second season with the Rainiers after re-signing as a free agent with the Mariners organization in the offseason. Through 14 starts with the Rainiers, the California-native is 10-4 and has put together a 3.53 ERA with 28 walks and 64 strikeouts.

Seddon will be joined in Lehigh Valley by Rainiers manager Daren Brown, who was selected by the league to serve in that same role on the 2010 PCL All-Star Field Staff.
