SeaWolves Sweep to Sixth Straight Win

The SeaWolves picked up their first sweep of the season after knocking off the Senators 6-3 at UPMC Park.

Erie has now won six games in a row, making it their longest winning streak of the season. The SeaWolves are back at the .500 mark in June for the first time since 2013.

Harrisburg got on the board first in the first inning with a solo shot from Mario Lisson in the top of the first off of Tyler Alexander .

The SeaWolves answered quickly with three two-out scores in the bottom of the second. With two men on, A.J. Simcox tripled to right to give the 'Wolves a 2-1 lead. Harold Castro kept it going with an RBI single to escalate the score to 3-1.

Gabriel Quintana homered to left for the 11th time this season in the top of the 5th to make it 4-1 off of Erick Fedde .

The Senators made the game interesting in the sixth. Jose Marmolejos continued his dominance of Erie pitching with a two-run bomb in the sixth to bring Harrisburg within one.

Grayson Greiner and A.J. Simcox gave Erie some much needed insurance in the eighth. The catcher nailed his first solo home run of the season off the batter's eye in center field. Later on in the inning, Simcox cranked his third homer of the season into right off of R.C. Orlan to make it 6-3 Erie.

The pitching was once again stout for the SeaWolves. Starter Tyler Alexander (3-4) got the win today after throwing 6.2 innings, allowing three earned on seven hits while striking out five. Sean Donatello picked up his sixth save on the year, and Mike Zagurski struck out three in his effort.

LHP Matthew Crownover (0-1) was handed the loss after his first AA start.

At 27-27, the SeaWolves now hit the road for six games, starting Tuesday in New Hampshire. Lefty Artie Lewicki (3-2, 4.03 ERA) will face the Fisher Cats' RHP Connor Greene (2-4, 3.66 ERA) at 6:35.
