Today, the SeaWolves strive to sweep their first series of the 2017 season against the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) at UPMC Park. Erie is running on their longest road streak of the season at five games, and are currently one game below the .500 mark. Yesterday, the SeaWolves improved to 7-1 in doubleheader play, shutting out the Senators in game one 1-0 and edging them 5-3 in game two. RHP Myles Jaye pitched a complete game shutout in the first game to earn his win of the season, and Christin Stewart homered for the 14th time in the game two victory. The doubleheader marked the eighth series win on the year for the SeaWolves...LHP Tyler Alexander makes his 11th start on the bump today for the SeaWolves and his third against Harrisburg. Last time he faced the Senators, Alexander threw for 4.2 innings and gave up five earned on eight hits while striking out five in a no-decision on May 24th. Harrisburg went on to win 6-5...Matthew Crownover will make his first Eastern League start today for Harrisburg. The 24-year-old lefty was called up from Advanced-A Potomac on June 1. In his last start for Potomac, Crownover pitched 5.2 shutout innings and struck out six in a no-decision against the Wilmington Blue Rocks.

- Tonight is the 10th of 13 meetings between the SeaWolves and the Senators. Erie leads the series 6-3.

-The SeaWolves current five game winning streak is their longest of the season and currently the longest streak in the Eastern League.

- Erie is hitting .263 as a team which is second in the league behind the Bowie Baysox.

- The SeaWolves have hit 50 home runs which is the second most in the league. Reading leads the league with 71.

- Christin Stewart is second in the league with 14 home runs. Ten of his home runs have come at home and he has hit seven against Trenton. Stewart is also tied for second in the league lead with 40 RBI and leads the league with 31 walks. He is third in the league with a .571 slugging percentage.

- SeaWolves pitchers have walked just 144 batters this season which is the second lowest total in the Eastern League behind Binghamton.

- The SeaWolves are fifth in the league with a 3.94 team ERA.

-The SeaWolves pitching staff has allowed the most home runs in the Eastern League with 54.

- Mike Gerber is second in the league with 36 runs scored. He is also third in the league with 200 at-bats, and tied for fourth in the league in hits with 63.

-Gerber recently snapped his eight game hitting streak in game one of the doubleheader yesterday, his longest of the season.

-Gabriel Quintana is the reigning Eastern League Player of the Week. He and Mike Gerber are the only SeaWolves to recieve that honor in 2017.

- Harrisburg is hitting .249 as a team which is ninth in the league. Their pitching staff is last in the league with a 4.54 ERA.

- The SeaWolves are 15-16 against the Western Division and 13-15 at UPMC Park.
