LUGO HIGHLIGHTS DOUBLEHEADER SPLIT: RHP Seth Lugo tossed a seven-inning complete game in the first of two games on Saturday, striking out 8 Sea Dogs on just six hits. The Binghamton bats provided four runs of padding in the first inning. In game two, Jeremy Barfield's two-run home run proved to be the game's only runs, sending Portland to their first win in five games. P.J. Conlon lasted 5.1 innings for the Ponies, he was slapped with his second straight loss.

BINGHAMTON STARTERS: RHP Donovan Hand makes his eighth Rumble Ponies start and his 11th of the season. In Hand's most recent appearance on May 30 at Trenton, he hurled 7.2 innings and gave up just one run. Binghamton lost that game 4-3. The 31-year-old has benefitted from the Binghamton bats, garnering 5.6 runs/game, the most of any Rumble Ponies starter. Hand has never faced the Portland Sea Dogs in his 11-year professional career.

PORTLAND STARTER: RHP Elih Villanueva makes his Sea Dogs debut after recently being signed by the Boston Red Sox. A 9-year pro, Villanueva was drafted by the Marlins out of Florida State in 2008. The 30-year old pitched in the Eastern League for the Bowie Baysox in 2015, posting an 8-7 mark with a 2.93 ERA in 17 starts. Villanueva brings with him one game of Major League experience, having thrown three innings for the Marlins in 2011. The Miami native last pitched for the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League.

BREATHING EASY: Binghamton's 5-1 game one win on Saturday was the first time in ten games that a game was decided by more than three runs. The Rumble Ponies 12-4 record in such games is second best in the Eastern League only to Trenton's 15-2 record.

GOOSE EGGS: Saturday's 2-0 game two loss was the tenth time the Rumble Ponies have been involved in a shutout and the third time they've been on the losing end. Only Portland (8-6) and Trenton (10-2) have won more shutouts that Binghamton and only Portland, Trenton, and Hartford (6-6) have played in more goose-egg games.

A WIN TODAY WOULD...: Give Binghamton their first series victory since a four-game sweep at Richmond on May 22 - 25. Since then, the Rumble Ponies split a four-game set with Hartford and then dropped two of three at Trenton. Binghamton is 10-6 in series finales and boast a 10-4-2 mark in series this season.

SEE YA LATER: After Binghamton and Portland conclude this series, they won't meet again for over two months. The Rumble Ponies and Sea Dogs will play 20 times during the 2017 regular season, but not again until August 18 for a four-game series at NYSEG Stadium.

UP NEXT: After an off day on Monday, Binghamton begins a three-game series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Tuesday. RHP Chris Flexen makes his Rumble Ponies debut against Richmond RHP Sam Coonrod. First pitch from NYSEG Stadium is scheduled for 6:35 PM.
