ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves take on the New Britain Rock Cats (Minnesota Twins) in the rubber game of the three-game set at New Britain Stadium. The 'Wolves took the middle game of the series last night 5-0 behind a complete game shutout by Jair Jurrjens. A win tonight would give the 'Wolves a .500 record on the road for the first time in 2007. The SeaWolves need one more victory against a Northern Division opponent to insure a non-losing record against the opposite division. Erie is in a stretch of 16 games against opponents with sub-.500 records. Erie is 5-1 through the first six games of that stretch...The 'Wolves are tied atop the Southern Division with Akron following last night's win and an Akron 6-3 victory over Connecticut. Third place Altoona was swept in a doubleheader against Reading on Wednesday night and the Curve now sit at six games behind Erie and Akron. Reading (4th place) is 6.5 games back and Bowie (5th place) is seven games back...The 'Wolves are 7-2 in series against the Northern Division with the only series losses coming against New Hampshire...RHP Eddie Bonine takes the mound tonight for the 'Wolves. Bonine is coming off of a win against Harrisburg in his last outing and is tied with Trenton's Jeff Marquez for the EL lead in wins with 11...RHP Josh Hill takes the mound for the Rock Cats. Hill is 2-0 with seven no-decisions since being called up from Class-A Fort Myers. Hill picked up a win in his last start against New Hampshire going five shutout innings with a walk and for K's.
