FARM REPORT
Philadelphia Phillies: LHP Cole Hamels threw eight innings of three hit ball allowing one run and striking out eight in his last start at Wrigley. He is 3-1 with a 2.31 ERA in 4 July starts and is holding opponents to a .194 (19-98) average since the All-Star break. SS Jimmy Rollins is currently riding a 12-game hitting streak in which he is hitting .388 (21-54) with 6 multi-hit games, three 3-hit games, 3 2B, 4 3B, 2 HR, 9 RBI and 11 R. Rollins leads the league in runs with 91 and 3B with 14, while ranking third in hits with 141. 1B Ryan Howard is hitting .271 on the year with 18 2B, a league leading 87 RBI and 29 HR, which are tied for second. RHP Geoff Geary was called up from Triple-A to rejoin the bullpen and OF Chris Roberson was recalled on 7/30 and in his first two Major League games of the season he is 4-for-9 with a RBI single. RHP Kyle Kendrick has improved to 5-1 on the season, including a perfect 4-0 at home. He has allowed 25 ER in 55.2 IP and struck out 23. He threw seven innings of one-run ball in his last outing and is holding righties to a .212 (22-104) average on the year. LF Pat Burrell is currently on a 10-game hitting streak (.500, 14-28, 4 2B, 2HR, 9 RBI and 8 BB). He currently has 78 BB to 70 SO and his .423 on-base % ranks third in the league. He finished July hitting .435 (30-69) for the month with 5 2B, 6 HR and 22 RBI.
Ottawa Lynx: C Jason Jaramillo is hitting .272 for the season with 8 2B, 4 3B, 6 HR and 47 RBI. LHP J.A. Happ won his last start allowing two runs in 6 innings and struck out 6 brining his season total to 81 in 81.1 IP. In his first two relief appearances with Ottawa, LHP Mike Zagurski has thrown 3.0 innings allowing two hits and striking out five. OF Pedro Swann is hitting .268 with 12 2B, 5 HR and 21 RBI, while 1B Matt Padgett went 2-for-3 in his first game with Triple A this season.
Clearwater Threshers: OF Jeremy Slayden is hitting .275 with 18 2B and 2 3B and 48 R, while leading the team with 9 HR and 47 RBI. He has a hit in seven of his last 10 games and is hitting lefties at a .347 (25-72) clip with 15 RBI. C Lou Marson is hitting .316 (12-38) with 3 2B, 2 HR and 7 RBI in his last ten games. For the season, Marson is batting .283 with 21 2B, 4 HR and 45 RBI, including .357 (30-84) with RISP. RHP Andrew Carpenter improved his record to 13-5 on the season including 7-2 in his last 10 starts and 6-1 with a 1.67 ERA since the All-Star break. He has only allowed 4 ER in his last three starts (21.0 IP, 14 H, 7 BB, 13 SO), including a three-hit shutout. In 125.0 IP this season, Carpenter has allowed 47 ER and struck out 84. LHP Cory Willey is 5-1 with a 2.33 ERA and 4 saves in 29 appearances as a reliever and is holding opponents to a .149 (7-47) with RISP, a 0.95 (2-21) average with RISP and 2 outs and lefties to a 154 (10-65) average. RHP Nate Johnson has surrendered only 2 ER in his last 19.2 IP (3 BB & 14 SO). Johnson is 1-2 on the season with a 3.35 ERA in 37.2 IP.
Lakewood Blue Claws: OF Gus Milner is hitting .293 for the year with 25 2B, 3 3B, 8 HR and 59 RBI, including .303 (33-109) with RISP. 2B Adrian Cardenas is hitting .331 (47-142) with 6 2B and 14 RBI since the break. He average currently sits at .295 to go along with 20 2B, 2 3B, 8 HR and 59 RBI. A year after hitting only .219 in his first season, OF Quinton Berry is hitting .302 with 12 2B, 3 3B, 2 HR and 28 RBI in his second year. He has also stolen 42 bases in 58 attempts, which ranks third in the South Atlantic League. LHP Anotnio Bastardo is 6-0 with a 1.62 ERA this season (61.0 IP, 44 H, 13 R, 11 ER, 26 BB & 63 SO), including 5-0 with a 1.43 ERA in night games. RHP Carlos Monasterios is 9-8 on the season with a 4.75 ERA in 21 starts. He has allowed 66 ER in 125.0 IP and struck out 94 while walking 50. He has allowed only 37 of 114 (32%) leadoff hitters to reach base (22 H & 15 BB).
Williamsport Crosscutters: RHP Edgar Garcia is 1-0 with a 2.16 ERA in 8.1 IP since being sent down from Lakewood. He has allowed two runs on six hits while walking two and striking out 11. RHP Drew Naylor was named the Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 23-29 for throwing 7.1 innings of three-hit, one-run ball. He has begun the season going 5-3 with a 3.48 ERA. In 54.1 IP, he has given up 21 ER on 44 H and struck out 55. 2B Tyler Mach is hitting .347 for the season with 11 2B, 4 HR, 23 RBI and a .441 on-base %. He's hit .368 (14-38) in his last 10 games and .400 (14-35) with RISP. OF D'Arby Myers is hitting .229 with 6 2B, HR and 11 RBI in 36 G. He is a perfect 5-for-5 with a RBI and 2 R in day games.
