
SeaWolves Down Mets in Error-Filled Game

The SeaWolves took down the Binghamton Mets in an error filled game on Tuesday night at Jerry Uht Park by a final of 7-6. The Howlers have won back-to-back games for the second time this season.
Erie got on the board in the bottom of the first inning against B-Mets starter Josh Stinson. Jamie Johnson led off with a double and moved to third on a Brandon Douglas groundout. Johnson came home on a Michael Bertram sacrifice fly for a 1-0 Erie lead.
The Mets tied the game against Erie starter Jacob Turner in the top of the third. Lorenzo Scott tripled with one out and scored on a sacrifice fly from Jordany Valdespin.
In the fourth, a one-out, solo home run from Brahiam Maldonado gave Binghamton its first lead of the game at 2-1.
The âWolves responded in the next half inning. Bryan Holaday doubled with one out and on an Audy Ciriaco single, an error by the centerfielder Scott allowed him to score, tying the game. Ciraco then scored on a fielder's choice on a knock from Deik Scram, putting the âWolves up 3-2. Scram later scored on the second Binghamton error in the inning for a 4-2 edge.
Binghamton cut into the lead into the sixth. Josh Satin lead off the inning with a single and came home to score on a two out hit from Michael Fisher making it 4-3 âWolves.
In the top of the eighth, Binghamton took the lead once more against reliever Cory Hamilton. Raul Reyes led off the inning with a walk. Hamilton retired the next two hitters, but with two outs, Kai Gronauer singled home Reyes tying the game. Gronauer stole second nad scored on a Carlos Guzman single giving the Mets a 5-4 edge. Guzman then scored on a Valdespin single for a 6-4 lead.
Erie came right back in the bottom of the inning against Mets reliever John Lujan. Bryan Pounds led off with a walk and Francisco Martinez reached on an error putting the tying runs on base. Holaday sacrificed the runners into scoring position. Lujan delivered a passed ball and Pounds scored to make it a 6-5 game. Audy Ciriaco then doubled home Martinez, tying the game at 6-6.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Mets stuck with Lujan and Jamie Johnson led off with a single for his fourth hit of the game. Brandon Douglas sacrificed the runner into scoring position. After an intentional walk set up a potential inning-ending double play, Pounds sent a comebacker to the mound that Lujan overthrew into centerfield allowing Johnson to score for the Erie win.
Turner took his second straight no-decision despite a quality start. He allowed three runs On seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts.
