Senators Hit 3 HRs in 4-3 Loss To New Britain

On Wednesday night at Metro Bank Park, the Senators offense showed signs of breaking out of their early season slump but it wasn't enough as they fell to New Britain 4-3. Steve Lombardozzi, Bill Rhinehart and Adam Fox all homered for the Senators in the loss.

Brad Meyers started and went 4.2 innings allowing nine hits and four runs in taking his first loss in two season. Deolis Guerra picked up his second win in as many starts for New Britain.

The Senators took a 1-0 lead in the second on a solo home run by Bill Rhinehart. New Britain then scored two in the third and two in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead. Lombardozzi hit his solo HR in the fifth, then Fox hit a two-out solo home run in the ninth for the final tally.

The offense showed signs of life with the nine hits the Sens pounded out being a season-high. Lombardozzi and Jesus Valdez both had two hits in the game.

Harrisburg finishes their season opening homestand 2-4 and now heads out on a seven-game road trip with four games in Trenton and three in Altoona. The game on Thursday night begins at 7:05 p.m. and can be heard on 1460am The Ticket and on the Internet beginning at 6:50 p.m.
