Portland Sea Dogs News Release
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania- The fourth inning was the story of Monday night's series opener between the Portland Sea Dogs and Harrisburg Senators. Six runs were scored in the game, and all six came in the fourth. In the end, it was the Sea Dogs who got the upper hand, as they received run-scoring hits from Oscar Tejeda, Mark Wagner, and Ronald Bermudez, while Jeremy Kehrt pitched five and one-third solid innings. Portland's 4-2 win was their fourth in five games on their current road trip.
After three scoreless innings, the Sea Dogs' offense broke things open with four runs in the fourth. Ryan Khoury led off with a walk, and advanced to second on a single by Alex Hassan. Oscar Tejeda followed with a base hit, plating Khoury. Mark Wagner stepped to the plate next, and proceeded to rip a two-run double down the left field line. After a pair of outs, Ronald Bermudez reached on an infield single to shortstop, bringing in Wagner with the fourth run of the frame.
In the bottom half of the fourth, the Senators responded with a pair of runs. Derek Norris led off the inning with a solo home run to left field. Tyler Moore followed with a walk, before Tim Pahuta singled to right. After a strikeout and a groundout, Leonard Davis singled to right field, driving home Moore for a 4-2 score.
For the rest of the night, the game belonged to the pitchers, as Jeremy Kehrt, Kyle Fernandes, and Blake Maxwell kept Harrisburg's bats silent, while Danny Rosenbaum, Jimmy Barthmaier, Patrick McCoy, and Rafael Martin kept the Sea Dogs off of the board.
