SO WE MEET AGAIN: Portland continues their 6-game roadtrip on Friday night, taking on the Southern Division-leading Akron Aeros in game one of a three-game weekend series. The Sea Dogs won their first league title in 13 years by defeating Akron, 8-5 on September 17, 2006 at Hadlock Field...Devern Hansack was the winning pitcher in game one and the clincher in game five....Portland is coming off a series loss in Erie, while the Akron Aeros took two of three from the Fisher Cats at Canal Park.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Mike James (0-3) issued a bases loaded walk to Clete Thomas, giving Erie a 9-8, come-from-behind win over Portland on Thursday night. Portland rallied back from a 5-0 deficit, scoring eight unanswered runs but the SeaWolves scored two runs in the final two innings for the series win. Jeff Natale snapped a 5-5 tie with a 3-run homer in the eighth inning off Anthony Tomey. Bryan Pritz had two hits, including a two-out solo home run in the fourth inning. Jeff Corsaletti, Eric Crozier and Andrew Pinckney each had RBI for Portland.
