Melo Released, Bynum Returns

The Harrisburg Senators announced today that infielder Seth Bynum will rejoin the team and Juan Melo has been released.

Bynum started the season with Harrisburg and played in 20 games before landing on the disabled list with a leg injury on May 1st. In those 20 games, Bynum hit .221 with three homers and 11 runs batted in.

Bynum was activated from the D.L. on May 29th and sent to single-A Potomac. He played in nine games with Potomac and hit .316 with six doubles and five RBI's.

Melo had played in 54 games with the Senators this season with four home runs and 23 RBI's.

With the player moves today, the Senators' active roster stands at 24 players, the limit allowed by the Eastern League.
