The Sea Dogs open up a seven-game roadtrip in six days on Friday night against the Binghamton Mets from NYSEG Stadium...Portland finished April with the best record in the league at 15-8.

NEWS AND NOTES

HOMECOMING : Former Binghamton University standout RHP Mike Augliera gets the starting nod in the opener of a four-game series on Friday night at NYSEG Stadium ...Portland was postponed yesterday, and finished 3-3 on their homestand...The postponement was the sixth of the season and the fourth at Hadlock Field...The Sea Dogs and the B-Mets are playing their third series of the season...There's been three postponements through the first 2 series...Tomorrow afternoon is Portland's second doubleheader of the season.

RALLY FELL SHORT : Reading scored single runs during innings 6-8, and beat the Sea Dogs 3-2 on Wednesday night...Portland grabbed a 1-0 lead right away off winning pitcher Severino Gonzalez (3-1)...2B Mookie Betts led off with a single and scored on a double by SS Deven Marrero...Portland had just four hits the rest of the way, scoring a run (Henry Ramos RBI single) in the ninth inning off closer Kenny Giles...LF Albert Cartwright (3-for-3) tied the game in the sixth with a single. Reading scored the go-ahead run off Robby Scott (2-1) in the seventh on a fielder's choice and Carlos Alonso delivered an RBI bunt-single in the eighth.
