NEWS AND NOTES
HOME SWEET HOME: The Portland Sea Dogs return to Hadlock Field after a 5-1 homestand, and start a three-game series against the Erie SeaWolves (Tigers affiliate)...Portland is 6-4 during a 16-game stretch against the Western Division but won 13 of 19 in road contests against the west this season...The 'Dogs have 29 games remaining in the regular season and sit six games (five in the standings, but lost head to head) behind Reading for the second playoff spot in the Eastern Division.
SUNDAY FINALE: DH Brett Netzer went 2-for-4 with his fifth homer of the season, but the Bowie Baysox closed out the three-game series with a 10-4 win on Sunday afternoon at Prince George's Stadium...RHP Dean Kremer (8-4) earned the win, fanning eight batters over 6.2 innings on six hits and three runs...RHP Bryan Mata (L, 2-4) lasted only five batters, yielding five hits and four runs...Bowie's 3-5 hitters knocked in seven runs.
