NEWS AND NOTES
HIS DEBUT IS TONIGHT: RHP Aaron Wilkerson makes his Double-A debut for the Sea Dogs in Game 2 of a three-game series against the Erie SeaWolves (Tigers affiliate) at Jerry Uht Park...Portland was shutout in the series opener on Tuesday night, the first shutout for the Erie SeaWolves in 120 games...The two teams conclude the three-game series tomorrow night.
STRONG OUTING: RHP Mike McCarthy suffered the loss last night, but tied a career-high with 7.0 IP (longest in Double-A), yielding two runs (one earned) on six hits, one walk and on strikeout...McCarthy gave up two-out RBI singles to James Robbins in the fourth and sixth innings...Jacoby Jones went 1-for-2 with a sac-fly in the eighth off Heri Quevedo and scored both times on Robbins' singles.
