Tonight, the SeaWolves look to win their fourth straight game as they take on the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) in the middle game of a three-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the SeaWolves blanked the Sea Dogs 3-0 in the series opener. It was the SeaWolves first shutout since August 19, 2014 (120 games). It was the longest streak without a shutout in full-season MiLB... Righty Tommy Collier takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his 20th start of the season, 13th with the SeaWolves first against the Sea Dogs. Collier was roughed up in his last start, taking a loss at New Britain on July 30. In the game, he allowed a season-high eight runs on 11 hits with a walk and four strikeouts in five innings of work. Erie lost the game 9-4 and it was Collier's first loss as a SeaWolves pitcher... RHP Aaron Wilkerson takes the mound for the Sea Dogs making his Double-A debut. Wilkerson has spent time with Low-A Greenville and High-A Salem in the Red Sox system this season. In Greenville, Wilkerson posted no record and a 4.76 ERA. With Salem, Wilkerson made 17 appearances, 12 starts, posting a 7-2 record and 2.96 ERA. Wilkerson took a no-decision in his last start against Lynchburg on July 30. In the game, he allowed three runs on four hits with four walks and two strikeouts in four innings.
