NEWS AND NOTES
TWO FOR TUESDAY (ROCK CATS 1-0):The Sea Dogs and New Britain Rock Cats (Rockies affiliate) play game two of their 3-game series on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field...Portland is looking to snap a three-game losing streak, and has not lost four in a row at home since July 1-3, 2012...The 'Dogs have been outscored 33-6 since they won Game 1 of Saturday's twinbill against Reading...Portland concludes their six-game homestand tomorrow morning, before a seven-game roadtrip beginning Thursday in Trenton, New Jersey.
THEY BROUGH THE POWER: New Britain hit four homers, receiving a grand slam from SS Trevor Story, and beat the Sea Dogs 14-4 on Monday night...David Dahl, Tom Murphy and Mike Tauchman each homered in the win...LHP Yohan Flande earned the win for the 'Cats, working 5.2 innings on 5 hits and 4 runs...RHP Mike McCarthy gave up a career-high 9 runs over 4+ innings to suffer the loss...Jantzen Witte sparked Portland's offense, going 2-for-4 with his first Double-A homer and 3 RBI.
