
Rock Cats Home Opener on Thursday Night at NB Stadium

New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, will host OPENING NIGHT 2015 this Thursday, April 16 at 6:35 PM against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays affiliate). The opening homestand, which is the only one in April, runs Thursday through the following Wednesday with day games on Saturday and Sunday. Thursday's game will feature the traditional Opening Night Ceremony where the entire Rock Cats roster will be introduced. The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive a Rock Cats Magnet Schedule, courtesy of Dunkin' Donuts. There will also be a Pre-Game Happy Hour in the Samuel Adams Rooftop Bar & Grill presented by Heineken. Tickets are available for purchase by visiting www.rockcats.com or calling 860-224-8383.
Friday evening (6:35 PM vs New Hampshire) the first 1,000 fans will receive a 2015 Calendar courtesy of Holiday Inn Express Southington. The baseball calendar will feature photos of some of the great players from the New Britain Red Sox and New Britain Rock Cats since 1983.
Saturday evening (6:35 PM vs New Hampshire) fans will be treated to Rock & Roll Saturday with a band playing outside the main gates of New Britain Stadium. Fans can also bring their dogs to the game for the annual Bark in the Park event. There will be a Pre-Game Happy Hour in the Samuel Adams Rooftop Bar & Grill presented by Twisted Tea and a Post Game Launch-A-Ball where fans can win great prizes.
Sunday afternoon (1:35 PM vs New Hampshire) first 1,000 fans receive a Byron Buxton Bobblehead courtesy of Stop & Shop. Buxton is one of the top prospects in baseball and played for the Rock Cats last season. It is also Family Fun Day and all the kids (12 and under) have the opportunity to come down on the field and run around the bases (presented by Harte Nissan and Infiniti).
Monday evening April 20th, the Boston Red Sox farm club, the Portland Sea Dogs, will be in town for a three game series concluding the first homestand for the Rock Cats this season.
