Reading Fightin Phils News Release
Things are about to get interactive this season at FirstEnergy Stadium when the Reading Fightin Phils debut the National Penn Social Media Vault. Now, everything fans post through social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using the hashtag #Fightins can be displayed through interactive multimedia displays, including the giant FirstEnergy Vision, around FirstEnergy Stadium.
The new National Penn Social Media Vault is part of National Penn's five-year partnership extension with the Fightins. At each home game, Fightins fans can take part in the social media experience by using the hashtag, #Fightins. Their posts, tweets, and photos will then appear on high-definition television screens around the ballpark throughout the game. During a selected inning each night, the nine best photos will appear on FirstEnergy Vision when the Fightins open up the "Social Media Vault". One lucky fan will be selected the "Best Photo of the Game" and win a prize. For example, on Opening Night, the best photo post using #Fightins will win a baseball bat autographed by the entire 2015 Fightins team!
Fans will be encouraged to join in on the conversation throughout the game by using #Fightins to discuss their in-stadium experiences, between-inning contests, and the action on the field.
"National Penn is excited to extend our partnership with the Fightin Phils and support the development of the Social Media Vault. We believe this new interactive capability will enhance the #Fightins fan experience," announced Bruce Smith, region president, National Penn.
The National Penn partnership continues to include the popular National Penn Exploding Train Sign in centerfield that bursts with fireworks each time the Fightins score; the National Penn Knothole Gang that invites community organizations to sit in box seats behind home as complimentary guests of the company; and the World Famous National Penn Fightins Mascot Band that have been together for 15 years and play on the Weston Center Winning Smiles Stage every Saturday.
Celebrating the 65th Season of Baseball at America's Classic Ballpark, the Fightins kick off their home season on Friday, April 17th at Fightins Opening Night when they host the Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the 2014 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants. The first 3000 adults 15 & over will receive a 65th Season of Baseball at America's Classic Ballpark Fleece Blanket thanks to CJ's Tire and Automotive Services and VF Outlet. One lucky fan will also win a trip for two to Phillies Spring Training 2016 thanks to White Star Tours & Travel Center. Tickets for Opening Night and the 2015 season are available online at Fightins.com, by phone at 610-370-BALL, and in-person at FirstEnergy Stadium.
