
Sea Dogs Explode for 21 Hits in 10-5 Victory

Portland, Maine - The Portland Sea Dogs (37-63) set a new season high with 21 hits and defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (50-46) 10-5 on Friday night at Hadlock Field.
The 'Dogs got off to a hot start, scoring five runs on six hits in the second inning off of Fisher Cats' starter John Anderson (L, 5-5). Portland added two more runs on four hits in the third and three runs on four hits in the fourth to take a 10-0 lead after four innings of play.
All nine Sea Dogs in the lineup recorded at least one hit and eight of nine scored at least one run. Oscar Tejeda went 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored, and a walk. Tim Roberson finished 3-for-3 with two RBI, Tzu-Wei Lin went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, and David Chester went 3-or-5 with a double and two RBI.
The 21 hits are the most the Sea Dogs have registered in a single game this year. Their last 20-hit game came on May 15th, 2014, at New Britain. The last time the 'Dogs had recorded over 20 hits at Hadlock Field was when they set a franchise record with 23 hits on April 26th, 2009, against Connecticut.
Mike McCarthy (6-4) earned the win, allowing one earned run on five hits in five innings, walking three and striking out two.
The series continues tomorrow evening, first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM. William Cuevas (8-5, 3.36) faces off against Austin Bibens-Dirkx (3-4, 5.74) of the Fisher Cats. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by phone at 207-879-9500 or online at seadogs.com .
