Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators pounded out 12 hits, but managed just one run in a 5-1 loss to the Bowie Baysox Friday at Metro Bank Park in front of a crowd of 6,352. The Senators (49-51) have lost five of six and three straight to Bowie.

Bowie started Friday night's game by working two walks and a single to load the bases against Harrisburg starter Nick Pivetta. However, Bowie came away with nothing as Pivetta retired the next three in order. The Baysox stranded two in the second inning and two in the third before breaking through in the fourth. A two-out walk by Ozzie Martinez was followed by a two-run home run from Corban Joseph to put Bowie up, 2-0. Pivetta worked a 1-2-3 fifth before being relieved by Wander Suero. Pivetta allowed two runs on five hits and five walks in his third start with Harrisburg. Suero pitched a scoreless sixth, but in the seventh allowed a two-out, two-run single to Bowie's Rossmel Perez and then an RBI double to David Freitas. Bryan Harper worked around a single and walk to throw a scoreless eighth inning before pitching a perfect ninth.

The Senators recorded a hit in eight of nine innings, but grounded into two double plays and stranded eight runners. Pedro Severino provided the only run for Harrisburg with a long home run down the left field line in the fourth inning. Severino finished 2-for-4 - one of four Senators' hitters with multi-hit games. Cutter Dykstra was 3-for-4 with two doubles while Isaac Ballou had three singles. Matt Skole hit his 14th double as part of a 2-for-4 night. Serving as the designated hitter, Ryan Zimmerman was 0-for-4 in his fourth rehab game with the Senators.

The third of a four-game set will begin Saturday night with a 6:00 p.m. The pregame show will begin at 5:45 p.m. on Fox Sports 1460am, iHeart Radio, and on Tune In.
