The Fightin Phils (54-45) bounced back after losing on Thursday night to the Rock Cats (46-52) by winning 6-3 on Friday night. They trailed 3-2 entering the top of the seventh inning.

New Britain scored two runs off Ben Lively in the bottom of the second inning to take a 2-0 lead. Jayson Langfels hit a RBI triple while Mike Tauchman added a RBI single. Brock Stassi cut the lead in half to 2-1 as he hit a RBI single in the top of the third inning off Rock Cats starter Harrison Musgrave.

Lively helped out his own cause in the top of the fifth inning as he led off with a triple. JP Crawford tied the game at 2-2 with a sacrifice fly off Musgrave. Musgrave was finished after five innings as well as Ben Lively. Joey Wong gave New Britain a 3-2 lead on a suicide squeeze in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Lively allowed three runs (two earned) off seven hits in five innings with three walks and five strikeouts. Colton Murray (5-1) entered the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. He retired the side in three straight innings, recording three strikeouts in the process.

The Fightin Phils scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 6-3 lead. Two errors were committed in the inning by New Britain. Andrew Knapp, Destin Hood and Harold Martinez hit RBI singles while Brock Stassi reached on an error and scored a run. Rock Cats relievers Shane Broyles and Austin House allowed two runs each.

Stephen Shackleford tossed a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning for his 22nd save. He's now tied for third all-time for most saves in a season. Ricky Bottalico recorded 22 saves in 1994. Destin Hood and Brock Stassi both extended their hitting streaks to six games.

The Fightin Phils and Rock Cats will continue their series tomorrow night. First pitch is at 7:05 pm on Saturday night. Fans can listen to the game on CBS Sports Radio 1240 AM/98-5 FM and fightins.com beginning at 6:35 pm.
