For the first time in almost a month, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers (12-18) have won two in a row. The Scrappers beat the Staten Island Yankees (18-12) 5-4 in 10 innings on Tuesday night at Eastwood Field.
The big hit for Mahoning Valley came in the bottom of the eighth, when Emmanuel Tapia crushed a solo home run to right center to tie the game 4-4.
In the bottom of the tenth with two strikes and two outs, Austin Fisher lined a single to center to score Mark Mathias, and to give the Scrappers the 5-4 win.
