The PawSox couldn't muster much offense on Thursday night, falling in Scranton. The 2 game winning streak was snapped as veteran Tim Redding surrendered a single run to Pawtucket in 6.2 innings of work. Redding scattered 7 hits.
Adam Mills survived a rough start, giving up three runs in the first two innings. Mills (1-6) gave up all 5 runs in 6.1 innings, allowing 9 hits. The big blow was a two run homer by Reegie Corona.
The lone PawSox run scord in the third inning when Gil Velazquez singled and eventually came around on a sacrifice fly by newcomer Alex Hassan. The 7 PawSox hits belonged to just three batters. Velazquez went 3-3 and Lars Anderson and Bubba Bell had 2 hits apiece.
The PawSox begin a 4 game series on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Syracuse. Felix Doubront (2-1,1.08) faces Jeff Mandel (2-3, 5.58).
